Your media, on your device
Vr Games (“we”, “us”, or “our”) develops FilmCut, an Android video editor. This policy explains how the app handles information when you select media, create projects, preview edits, export a video, or contact us.
FilmCut does not automatically upload your media or projects to us. Its editing features run on your device. The current app has no user accounts, advertising, analytics, automatic crash-report uploads, or developer-operated cloud storage.
What FilmCut accesses and stores
Your selected media may contain personal information. FilmCut accesses and processes that content to carry out the editing actions you request.
- Selected media
- Videos, photos, and audio you choose, along with file names, file references, duration, dimensions, and other technical media information needed to import, preview, and export them.
- Project information
- Project names, text and captions you enter, selected-media references, timing, colors, effects, and other edit settings. These are saved in the app’s private storage so you can reopen a project.
- Previews and exports
- Thumbnail images, temporary processing data, and working copies of exported videos. Gallery or document copies are created when you choose to save an export.
Original files remain in the location you selected. Saved projects reference those files and store your edits; FilmCut does not replace or overwrite the originals as part of normal editing.
You choose the files
FilmCut uses Android’s file picker to access the videos, photos, and audio files you select. It may retain the access granted by Android so those files remain available when you reopen a project.
The current app does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or your entire media library. System permissions declared by playback components, such as checking connection status or keeping the device awake, do not enable automatic media uploads.
You can choose not to import a file. Removing or revoking access to a source file can prevent projects that reference it from opening or exporting correctly.
Managing your local data
FilmCut keeps saved projects and working export files in app storage. Thumbnails are cached for faster previews and may be removed by cache management or Android. Working export copies may remain after you save or share a video.
- Delete a project in FilmCut. This removes its saved edit instructions. It does not delete original media, previously exported videos, or all cached thumbnails.
- Clear the app’s cache in Android settings. This removes cached files, but does not normally remove saved projects or working exports stored as app data.
- Clear FilmCut’s app storage or uninstall it. This removes its app-private data from that installation, including saved projects and app-private exports.
- Remove saved or shared copies separately. Videos saved to your gallery, a document provider, or another app remain until you delete them at that destination.
FilmCut does not provide its own cloud backup or sync. Any copies maintained by Android, a device manufacturer, a backup service, or a file provider are governed by that service and its settings.
Built around Android’s controls
Saved projects, thumbnail caches, and app-private exports use Android’s app storage protections. File access is based on the selections and grants made through Android. Sharing an export uses Android’s file-sharing mechanism to grant the receiving app access to that file.
We do not receive a remote copy of your local projects and cannot retrieve, restore, or delete those local files for you. Your device’s storage protection and any external backups depend on Android and your device or provider settings.
When you contact us
If you email Vr Games, we and our email service provider receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your inquiry and provide support. Please send only the information needed for your request.
Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, provide follow-up, or meet applicable legal obligations. You can request access, correction, or deletion of information you provided to us by using the privacy contact below. Local app data is managed on your device as described above.
The same local processing
FilmCut does not require an account or ask for age information, and it does not automatically collect children’s personal details or upload their media to us. A parent or guardian can contact us about a privacy concern or information a child may have voluntarily included in a support message.
